If you get a lot of hissing or other background noises when listening to audio on your PC, many times this can be fixed by simply muting the MIC input and any other Line In inputs you may have. You can mute your inputs by going to the Control Panel > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices > Adjust System Volume. You may have to go to the Voice tab to mute your MIC.
